I remember reading years ago after a PC is built - that Dell did a burn in test - something like running it for 24 hours or a week before sending your equipment?

If you're building your own PC - is this step unnecessary ( just flip the switch on for normal use and thats' your burn in test ? ). I haven't seen any mention of it in my PC building book - or in an online illustrated guide.
